Kzeniya Holographic Clutch

The holographic trend has been around a while now after it was debuted on the runway. Designers such as Stella McCartney, Jonathan Saunders, and Hugo Boss toyed with this trend in different ways; some went for the all-over glistening look, while others played with it in a more understated manner.

Of course I wanted a little of this futuristic, iridescent trend for myself. Not wanting to spend a lot on a piece of clothing that I probably wouldn’t get much wear out of, I decided to purchase a Kzeniya holographic clutch. Just a little holographic punch to update any outfit.

Qasr Al Sarab : Abu Dhabi

Qasr Al Sarab sits embedded in one of the largest sand deserts in the world, the Empty Quarter or Rub’ al Khali as it’s known locally.

Isolated from the outside world, the luxury Liwa Desert resort is perfect for some well deserved rest and relaxation. The drive is about an hour through the desert from the centre of Abu Dhabi. All of a sudden you see this in the midst of the sand dunes.
The reception area is quite stunning, it really feels as though you are in an ancient Arabian fortress.
The view from the terrace is pretty spectacular.
We were then taken on a journey through the windy maze of the hotel to our room.
Not bad!
Of course when you’re in the desert you need somewhere to cool off.

The restaurants are all very good and the service second to none. I would highly recommend.

Jo Malone’s Red Roses is one of their all time classic scents. Launched in 1996, it’s a heady blend of seven exquisite roses, with crushed violet leaves and a hint of lemon. It sits at the heart of the brand and reinventing it for the 21st century was always going to be a challenge.

Charlotte Stockdale, the recently appointed Style Editor to the brand has taken 300 bottles of her favorite scent, Red Roses, and each limited edition bottle has been hand painted in neon and also engraved with its number. The stylist cites her love of neon (ignited 15 years ago by a pair of Sergio Rossi stilettos) and her mother’s rose garden as the inspirations behind the design.

The Missoni Headband

I’m slightly obsessed with Missoni headbands. I already have two which I live in on holiday, a black one and a brown one with metallic silver and gold thread.
However mine are more of a slim Alice band style and I’ve been coveting the thicker almost turban-like type for a while.
So…I ordered this little beauty. Can’t wait to wear it!!!

Emirates Palace : Abu Dhabi

We have family who live in Abu Dhabi so we usually visit a new times a year ( never in the summer, it’s far too hot ). We are members of the Emirates Palace Beach Club so are able to use all the hotels facilities as though we were staying there. The hotel is rather grand from the outside.
Inside is even more opulent.
I think the beach, pools and exterior are my favourite parts of the hotel. There are two pools, on in the west wing and one in the east wing. One is more of an adults area and the other with water slides and a lazy river is more popular with children.
It’s all about the long lunches here.
And then relaxing in one of the canopy beds.
Then maybe wandering over to the beach until the sun goes down.
Eating out here is fun because there’s so many restaurants to choose from. Mezzaluna is the Italian, they do great lobster filled ravioli.
Sayad (Arabic for fisherman) is the hotels fish restaurant. Really fresh delicious fish.
BBQ Al Qasr is as the name suggests, a BBQ on the beach. Really good fun and super nice food. (Only open in the cooler months).
My absolute favourite restaurant though is Hakkasan.

As you can see it’s a gorgeous hotel with lots to do. We also visit other hotel restaurants which I have blogged about before. Bord Eau at the Shangri-La, Finz at the Beach Rotana and 55th & 5th at the St Regis Saadiyat Island.
Of all the other restaurants we’ve visited my favourite is Cipriani overlooking the Grand Prix circuit on Yas Island.
With a Bellini of course!
We made some new friends then headed to the Cipriani club upstairs.
